The Course Duration element in Tutor LMS displays the total duration of a course, helping students understand the time commitment required to complete the course. This element can show the total hours or days required to finish the course and includes options for customizing the display format, labels, icons, and styles to match the course or website design.

Available Controls

Content Controls

  1. Enable/Disable Course Duration Section – Option to show or hide the duration section based on your preference.
  2. Custom Label – Set a custom heading for the course duration (e.g., “Course Duration,” “How Long It Takes,” “Time Commitment”).
  3. Display Format – Choose the format for the duration (e.g., “X hours,” “X days,” or a custom format).
  4. Duration Calculation – Automatically calculates and displays the total duration based on course content or manually set by the instructor.
  5. Show Duration in Hours or Days – Customize whether the duration is shown in hours or days.
  6. Show Duration Range – Option to show a range of time if there is variability (e.g., “2-4 hours per week”).

Style Controls

Label Styling
  1. Label Text Color – Change the color of the duration section title (e.g., “Course Duration”).
  2. Label Typography – Adjust font size, weight, and style for better visibility.
Text Styling
  1. Duration Text Color – Customize the color of the actual duration text.
  2. Typography – Set the font style, size, and spacing for the duration text.
Icon Styling
  1. Icon Type & Size – Add and style icons next to the course duration (e.g., clock or calendar icon) to visually represent time.
  2. Icon Color – Choose the color for the icon to match your site design.
Layout & Alignment
  1. Spacing & Padding – Adjust spacing around the duration section for clean and organized display.
  2. Alignment Options – Align the course duration left, center, or right based on your design preferences.

Dynamic Behavior

  • Automatically calculates the course duration if set by the instructor based on course content (lesson durations, quiz lengths, etc.).
  • If no duration is specified, the section remains hidden.
  • If enabled, the duration is displayed in an easy-to-read format, either in hours or days, depending on the course settings.
